GOP talking points are not always fact-based To the editor: Stephen Sellers, in his letter to the editor of Tuesday, March 22, restates many of the Republican talking points. For the most part, these talking points are untrue. 1. Our country WAS NOT energy-independent during the Trump administration. It’s time for US to lead and put Putin in his place To the editor: During my days at Lewistown High School, I rode the school bus every day. Anyone who rode a school bus in those days knows and understands the turf division: good kids to the front, trouble-makers to the back. The back of our bus harbored several loud kids who bullied the entire bus daily with all manner of vulgar verbal abuse. Sometimes physical altercations broke out. Some days were worse than others. Thank you for support of Walk for Warmth

To the editor: The 12th annual Walk for Warmth was held on Feb. 26 at Kish Park in Burnham. The event is held each year in February, when temperatures are low, so that walkers could imagine what families who are struggling might endure. This year’s 40 walkers braved cold temperature and snow to come support this worthy cause. This event is co-hosted by United Way of Mifflin-Juniata and the Mifflin-Juniata Human Services Department. This year’s Walk for Warmth raised $5,800, which will assist 16 households with heating. All proceeds support the local Mifflin-Juniata Energy ...
