To the Editor : I admit to having a large sigh as I reiterate some truths in response to Stephen Sellers’ letter in the July 1 Sentinel, in which he lists President Biden’s “accomplishments.” 1. President Biden did not “do away with our energy independence” when he canceled the Keystone XL pipeline. The XL was an addition to the Keystone Pipeline, which is still in operation and delivers 590,000 barrels of tar-sands oil daily from Canada to U.S. refineries. Thanks for your support To the Editor: On Friday, June 30, our boys soccer team held a car wash and bake sale fundraiser at the Advance Auto Parts on West Fourth street in Lewistown. We first want to thank the management and staff of Advance for letting us use their facility, materials and their support. We also want to thank the community members that came to support our boys team as they worked to wash vehicles and their kind words to us all in our efforts on and off the soccer pitch. To the Editor: It has been reported on the news that Biden is going to run on his accomplishments for his hoped re-election. How had he improved things for the US? “Let me count the ways.” 1. He did away with our energy independents by killing the Keystone Pipeline, stopping the U.S. production of oil and natural gas, or at least cutting it way back. Then he buys oil from countries that hate us. And when this causes the price of gas to skyrocket which in turn causes terrible inflation, he starts to deplete our national oil reserve to bring down the cost of gas a little. The ...

Two Ideas To the Editor: Now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe V. Wade, perhaps it would be a good idea to start birth-adoption centers to replace abortion clinics. The federal government spends almost one trillion a year for guns, ammo, tanks, bombs, ships, planes, weapons of mass destruction, etc. for national defense and military personnel. Free public education is available to students in kindergarten through high school in most states, but learning takes place throughout life. Perhaps free education should be available from birth through life. Society would benefit ...
