A few thoughts about recent news headlines
To the Editor:
I have a few thoughts about a couple of items that have been in the news the past couple of weeks.
First is the cocaine that was found by the Secret Service in the White House. It took a long time for the location of where it was actually found to be reported. After being reported about umpteen different places, they settled on a location that should have been fairly secure, not just every Tom, Dick and Harry would have access to that area, it would be mostly staff or residents in that area.
I understand it was in a plastic baggie. If that is the case, there should be fingerprints on the bag, unless the person was wearing gloves all the time. With all the cameras around the White House it should be evident of anyone around that area wearing gloves, if not outright video of someone in possession of the baggie.
Everyone that was in that area during the time in question should be given a lie detector test. I don't care if they say that they will never know who left it there. It seems like another cover up to me. If they are telling the truth, they better make some changes to their security, or any president could be in danger.
Another thing is the statement of a large percentage of people saying that if someone calls another person by the wrong pronoun it should be punishable by law. I think there must be a lot of people out there that better put their big boy or girl pants on and toughen up. If that doesn't work, then go sit in a corner somewhere and suck your thumb until you feel better. I personally don't care.
