Thank You
In January of 2003, I preached my first sermon as pastor of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church in Belleville, PA. Now, 20+ years later, on August 27, 2023, I will be preaching my last sermon as pastor. This letter is to publicly express my thanks to the congregation for the many ways they cared for and supported me and my family over the years. They offered me vacation time so I could enjoy my family and hobbies. They granted me continuing education time each year so that I could continue to grow as a person and pastor. They generously allowed me to take two extended sabbaticals. They graciously and creatively "appreciated" me each October during Pastor Appreciation month, and at other times, as well. And they were liberal with their affirmation regarding the ministry gifts I offered. It has been a good two decades together. And so, as I transition into the next season of my life, I offer my sincere and heartfelt thanks to God for this opportunity to be the pastor of the Maple Grove Mennonite Church. I have been blessed during our journey together!
