To the Editor: The temple is the place where God dwells among His people and meets with them. The first temple was the tabernacle that was made in the wilderness according to Samuel 1:9, where it is called the Temple of the Lord. The first temple that was built in the time of Solomon and was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar at the time of captivity of Jerusalem and Judah (2 Kings 24:13; 2 Chron. 36:7). A Sad State of Unfair Taxation To the Editor: Pennsylvania is a state with many fees and taxes, and most of them are unfair to the poor and working-class families. A classic example is the 6% sales tax. When a working-class family needs to make a fairly large purchase, perhaps $5,000 for a necessary vehicle, they will probably need to arrange a loan for the purchase price, plus extra insurance on the vehicle and then borrow $300 for the sales tax. God’s Promises To the Editor: God made a promise to Abraham that the nations of the world would be blessed by his seed (Gen. 12:3; 22:18; 28:14). And God would honor this promise because of Abraham’s faith and obedience to him.
