HUNTINGDON -- A Lancaster man suffered suspected minor injuries when a commercial truck overturned on German Valley Road in Shirley Township on Aug. 27, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Huntingdon.
Police said Adam A. Pobee, 22, was traveling north and attempted to negotiate a right turn at about 10:59 a.m. when the truck was traveling too fast to safely make the turn. The truck left the roadway, struck a utility pole and wooden fence and overturned onto its driver’s side.
Pobee was wearing a seat belt and was transported by Orbisonia-Rockhill Emergency Medical Service to Penn Highlands for treatment.
Police said Pobee was cited in connection with the crash.
Driver cited after crash seriously injures woman
BEAVER SPRINGS -- A Middleburg woman suffered suspected serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash on Troxelville Road in Center Township on Sept. 2, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove.
Police said Jeremiah B. Martin, 24, of Beaver Springs, was traveling east on Troxelville Road at about 4:54 a.m. when he drove through a posted stop sign at Route 104 and struck a northbound 2024 Kia Soul driven by Karen E. Gahring, 55, of Middleburg.
After the collision, Martin’s vehicle struck a road sign and a residence on Walnut Street, police said.
Gahring was transported by Penns Creek Ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville with suspected serious injuries. Martin was not injured.
Police said Martin was using a cellphone immediately before the crash and was not wearing a seat belt. He was issued citations for manipulating a cellphone while driving and failing to wear a seat belt.
Police investigate reported assault at Selinsgrove State School
SELINSGROVE -- Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove are investigating a reported assault at the Selinsgrove State School on Route 522 in Penn Township.
Police said a 22-year-old Selinsgrove woman who works at the facility reported that a resident assaulted and strangled her at about 12:30 p.m. July 28.
The investigation is ongoing.
