McVeytown woman scammed out of $540 through online investment
MCVEYTOWN - An unidentified 55-year-old McVeytown woman told Pennsylvania State Police at Lewistown she was scammed out of $540 by a male asking to make an online investment, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. The incident took place at 3:23 p.m. on Jan. 2, 2024, along Route 522 South in McVeytown, the report said. Police said the woman can't access the money and asked for it back.
Police determine Middleburg man died of natural causes
MIDDLEBURG - Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove conducted a death investigation at 857 Bucksey Road, Middleburg, for Reuben Martin, 61, at 7:57 a.m. on Dec. 18, 2023, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. The investigation determined the death to be of natural causes, the report stated.
Montgomery man jailed after area retail trading card thefts
SELINSGROVE - Pennsylvania State Police at Selinsgrove were contacted on Dec. 13, 2023, by Target, located at 501 Marketplace Blvd., Selinsgrove, for a report of retail theft, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Friday. Troopers determined Stephen Naglak, 46, of Montgomery, Lycoming County, entered Target on Dec. 10, 2023, filled a shopping cart with $1,156.57 worth of sports trading card packs and walked out without paying, the report said. The incident was captured on surveillance video, police said. Naglak was connected to other area trading card thefts and Muncy Township Police found 800 packs of trading cards in his home, police said. The report said Naglak was jailed in Snyder County Prison, unable to post $5,000 bail.
Radio Shack door, two vehicle windows vandalized in Mount Union
MOUNT UNION - Pennsylvania State Police at Huntingdon responded to Radio Shack, Wrangleton Road and Gallagher Street, Mount Union, for a report of criminal mischief at 7:15 a.m. on Dec. 4, 2023, according to a Public Information Release Report issued on Saturday. Troopers discovered two vehicles - a 2008 Ford Focus with a damaged window valued at $100 and a bulldozer with a $1,000 damaged window - and Radio Shack's glass door - valued at $300 - had been vandalized by unknown individuals, the report said. The vehicle owners were a 66-year-old unidentified female from Mount Union and a 69-year-old male from Shade Gap, police said
