The game ended after five innings due to the 10-run rule. Lewistown is now 6-1 and has a half-game lead over Beaver Springs (5-1) in the race for the top spot in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League. Huskies can’t control Beavers’ bats in play-in loss

DUBOIS — Tuesday’s loss to the DuBois Beavers epitomized the softball season for the Mifflin County Huskies. All spring, the Huskies either got a stellar pitching performance and their bats went cold, or they piled up runs and couldn’t get the big out when they needed it. Despite the inconsistency, Mifflin County still found itself within striking distance of the PIAA playoffs. By RAY WILDE Sports Correspondent BELLTOWN — It looked pretty dismal for Belltown Friday as Milroy had just hit a grand slam and had taken an 8-4 lead late in the game with darkness and a rain storm looming on the horizon. But, the Belltown fans were rewarded as the home team rallied for seven runs in the fifth and took home an 11-8 victory in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League.
