Pecht hits MC 15-16’s into regional final

By RAY WILDE Sports correspondent WILLIAMSPORT— Every baseball game comes down to the last swing. On Sunday evening, the last swing belonged to Mifflin County’s Landon Pecht. Pecht ripped a 300 plus shot to right field just beyond the scoreboard with the bases loaded, giving Mifflin County a 5-4 win over South New Jersey (Atlantic Shore). WILLIAMSPORT — After three innings on Friday night, things didn’t look too good for the Mifflin County Babe Ruth 15-16-year-old All-Stars. The game was tied 1-1 and Atlantic Shore (Southern New Jersey) was out-hitting Mifflin County, 7-3. It was the second game of pool play in the Mid-Atlantic Regional 15-16-year-old tournament. WILLIAMSPORT — Mifflin County manager Denny Yetter was all smiles after Mifflin County’s opener at the 15-16-year-old Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Thursday afternoon, in Williamsport. Mifflin County downed Scranton, 11-1, in a five inning game. The game was called after five innings due to the 10-run rule. Beaver Springs sweeps major Babe Ruth awards

LEWISTOWN — Beaver Springs had a big year in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League and when it came to the postseason awards, the Springs made out quite well, too. Keith Baker, president of the league, made the announcement this week. Beaver Springs won its second league title in 2026 with an 18-2 record. The league champs also swept all three of the major awards. It marked the first time that Beaver Springs has won all three awards in the same year. Mifflin County Babe Ruth 13-year-olds ready for postseason

OLD BRIDGE, N.J. — The Mifflin County Babe Ruth 13-year-old All-Stars will start their postseason experience along ways from home. Mifflin County will play in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in Old Bridge, N.J. There is no state tournament this year. The manager of the team is Lewistown’s Josh Snook. He is being assisted by Rob Reeves, of Strodes Mills; Joe Colbert, of Lewistown; and Kyle Orndorf and Abner Druckenmiller, both of Milroy. Snook has an overall record of 36-75.
