Lady Lions named AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholars

GLOUCESTER, Mass. – Nine members of the Penn State women’s hockey team were named AHCA/Krampade All-American Scholars, the American Hockey Coaches Association announced Monday. The honorees are recent graduates Taylor Lum, Katie DeSa, Tessa Janecke and Leah Stecker; rising juniors Abby Stonehouse, Grace Tullock and Taya MacDonald; and rising sophomores Sophie Morrow and Shelby Shane. PORTLAND, Maine — Portland pitchers racked up 17 strikeouts and the Sea Dogs defeated the Altoona Curve 10-0 in Eastern League action on Sunday afternoon at Delta Dental Park at Hadlock Field in Portland. LEWISTOWN — This weekend saw the start of the 2026 Pennsylvania State Cal Ripken Tournament at various age levels. The results are from Friday and Saturday: 9-year-olds: Mifflin County went 3-1 at the tournament in Red Land (Harrisburg). Mifflin County beat Red Land,12-9; Exeter, 20-0; and Lower Dauphin, 15-4. Remembering a Babe Ruth game from 50 years ago

MILROY — Fifty years ago this summer, 1976, there was a Babe Ruth state tournament game played at the Armagh Memorial Field that will never be duplicated. It was the opening game of the 13-year-old Pennsylvania Babe Ruth state tournament between Mifflin County and Phoenixville. Phoenixville won 2-0 in 16 innings.
