Landis, Juniata boot MC in overtime

LEWISTOWN — It’s no secret who the Juniata Indians look to when they need to put the ball in the back of the goal.

The Indians have scored 25 goals this season, and senior Mylee Landis has accounted for 13 of them. On Saturday, the storyline was the same as Juniata battled Mifflin County.

Landis scored at the 88:31 mark – in overtime – as the Indians came away with a 1-0 victory over the Huskies in a non-league matchup. Mallory Garver picked up an assist on the goal.

The Indians held a 22-6 advantage in shots and 7-2 in corner kicks. Juniata goalkeeper Yaa Serwaa made six saves, while Mifflin County counterpart Liberty Cook turned aside 21 shots.

There was no JV game.

Juniata is at Halifax today, while the Huskies travel to Greencastle-Antrim on Tuesday.
