Mountain Lions best Huskies
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County boys golf was defeated by Altoona on Wednesday, 334-385, at Lewistown Country Club.
The Huskies were led by Evan Breon, who shot a season-low round of 84, which tied for second place overall. Jude Zook contributed a 96, which was good for 10th place overall.
Caleb Bubb fired a 102, which placed 11th, and Chase Krepps rounded out the scoring with a 103, which placed 12th out of 16 golfers competing in the match.
With the loss, MC is now 0-7 on the season and 0-6 in the Mid-Penn Keystone. Next, MC heads to Valley Green, home of Red Land High School.
MC girls golf played at Valley Green Thursday. Mother Nature didn’t cooperate as the match wasn’t able to be completed. Emma Norman still had two holes to play when the rain hit and Lily Breon had four holes left to play. Both girls were playing well. Lily was on pace to shoot a 98 and Emma was on pace to shoot a 104. Both would be season- and career-low scores had they been able to finish their rounds.
MC girls are back in action on Monday at Sportsman’s Golf Course, the home of Central Dauphin.
