UDA sinks Juniata, 11-1
ELIZABETHVILLE — Juniata softball lost to Upper Dauphin on Thursday, 11-1.
Regan Lowrey scored the Indians’ lone run. Sophie Smith had a single and a walk. Savannah Marshall, Destiny Yohn and Ashley Piper each tallied a single in the road defeat.
For UDA (4-4), Amaya Hoffman launched a home run and a double with four RBIs. Madison Shaffer added an RBI double. Senior Shayla Rusnak had two hits and an RBI.
Juniata (3-5) hosts Milton at 4 p.m. on Monday.
Bluejays corral Mustangs
BLOOMSBURG — Central Columbia softball beat Midd-West on Thursday, 11-4.
Central (7-1) scored three times in the third and fifth innings. They added five more runs in the sixth frame. They had eight hits in the game and four errors.
The Mustangs (3-4) posted six hits with three errors.
Jayda Dunn and Briahna Keister each had two hits for Midd-West with Dunn having a double. Kylie Mitch added one hit with one RBI. Keister also had an RBI.
Abby Welkom launched a home run for the Bluejays. She had two hits, three RBIs and three runs. Brynn Karnes tallied two hits and an RBI. Gabrielle Hashagen also belted a home run and had three RBIs with two runs scored.
Midd-West hosts Mifflinburg on Wednesday.
BOYS LACROSSE
Thundering Herd stampedes past Huskies
LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County boys lacrosse lost, 15-3, to Carlisle during their “stick at the cancer” fundraiser match.
Husky Dakota Gibbons had one goal, Nate Parkes added one goal and Raul Rodriguez had one goal assisted by Vann Rogers.
Nate Parkes and Gabe Getz were both 66% on face-offs.
Dodger Weaver recorded 10 ground balls.
Jamison Parkes posted eight saves for the Huskies.
MC boys lacrosse boosters raised $550 to go towards “sticking it to cancer”.
The Huskies (0-9) host State College on Tuesday.
