MIDDLEBURG — Macy Buskey had a triple and drove in five runs with her three hits, leading East Juniata to a 13-5, nonleague win over Midd-West in softball Monday.

Rachel Keister had the lone extra-base hit for the Mustangs, a double. She went 3-for-3 at the plate.

The Tigers carried a one-run lead into the second, but put five more on the board in that frame and three runs each in the third and fourth before the Mustangs crossed the plate again.

Brenna Watts picked up the win in the circle.

WINGATE — A ninth-inning run was the winner for Mount Union, which escaped Bald Eagle Area with a 4-3, nonleague baseball victory Monday.

Ryan Plank led the Trojans at the plate, going 4-for-5. Bryce Danish struck out eight in relief for the win.

Braylan Knable and Ryan Scott each doubled for Mount Union.

HERNDON — Juniata held off a late-charging Line Mountain to come out victorious by the final score of 8-5 in a Tri-Valley League baseball game on Monday.

The Indians went into the bottom half of the seventh inning with an 8-3 lead before the Eagles dropped two runs in the frame but fell short of the comeback.

Jordan Dickinson led the Indians at the plate going 2-for-4 with a home run and collected four RBIs.

Juniata (2-0, 1-0) hosts Halifax on Thursday.

BEAVER SPRINGS — Loyalsocj scored four sixth-inning runs to even the score against Midd-West, and plated the winner in the eighth in a Heartland Conference baseball game Monday.

Caden Wolfley had two hits and two RBIs for the Mustangs.

HARRISBURG — Mifflin County’s doubles teams had the best showing, but the Huskies fell in straight sets across the board to Central Dauphin, 5-0, in Mid-Penn tennis Monday.

The duos of Owen Shuey and Gunnar Wagner, and Zander Crader and Kolten Wert each won two games in each of their two sets. Quinn Miller was the only singles player to win more than one, earning a game victory in each set.
