Belleville thumps Burnham, 15-4

BELLEVILLE–The game between Burnham and Belleville was started on June 11, but when the rain came it was stopped.
Burnham was ahead 2-0 going into the bottom of the first. The game was being played in Belleville.
The game resumed on Thursday and the Burnham lead didn’t hold up. Belleville won 15-4 and remained in third place in the Mifflin County Babe Ruth League. The game was stopped due to the 10-run rule.
Belleville tied the game in the first and then scored five runs in the second, eight in the third to win the game going away.
Reagan Varner led the Belleville hit parade with four hits. He scored three runs and had a double. Belleville finished with16 hits.
Mason Joyce also was a multiple hitter for the Big Valley club with three. He had a double in the second inning and drove in four runs. Other Belleville hitters with two hits were Landon Rhodes, Gage Geissinger and Isaac Sharp. Sharp, a rookie, had two doubles down the right field line.
Burnham finished with eight hits. Brayden Forshey had two. Three Burnham players had doubles, Noah Wray, Brody Keefer and Chase Benfer, who had his double on June 11.
Joyce was the winning pitcher. He struck out six and walked two.
MCVEYTOWN 20, STRODES MILLS 1
MCVEYTOWN–McVeytown moved into sixth place with a 20-1 win over Strodes Mills. The game ended after five innings due to the10-run rule.
McVeytown is now 7-9 and is two games behind Burnham.
McVeytown pounded out 13 hits in the lopsided victory. Landon Pecht had a big night at the plate with three hits including a triple, single and an inside the park home run. Other multiple hitters for the winners were Easton Stonerook and Lucas Casner. Casner had a double and a triple. Keiser Norton, a call up from the Cal Ripken League, got a single.
Crosby Sunderland was the winning pitcher as he went into the fifth. Stronerook completed the game in relief.
MILROY 6, LEWISTOWN 1
LEWISTOWN–Milroy won its fourth game of the year with a 6-1 victory over Lewistown.
Justice Ritchey was the winning pitcher as he had a complete game. Ritchey struck out 10, walked three and gave up four hits.
Milroy had a big game offensively as it had 13 hits. Kooper Walters led the Milroy attack with four, including a double and a triple. Andrew Toddes, Gabe Clark and Trey Cline each had two hits. Toddes and Cline each had a double.
Lewistown’s four hits came from Wyatt Foltz, Jared Sickles and Talon Penepacker. Foltz had two of the four hits.
