Tigers win both games in twinbill

COCOLAMUS–East Juniata fell behind early on but managed to claw its way back to a 12-11 victory over Susquenita in game one of a Tri-Valley League softball doubleheader on Tuesday.

Alyssa Robinson led the charge at the plate for the Tigers going 4-for-5 including a home run, a double and collecting six RBIs.

COCOLAMUS–East Juniata carried its momentum from game one as the Tigers routed the Blackhawks in five innings by the final score of 12-2 in the second game of a Tri-Valley League softball double header.

The Tigers had six different batters with two or more hits as Tiana Terry and Brenna Watts each had two hits. Two of those six batters had three hits in Emma Willow and Alyssa Robinson. Two of those six hitters had four hits in Macy Buskey and Annika Martin.

East Juniata (7-3, 6-2) travels to Millersburg on Thursday.

Softball

Mount Union 8,

Juniata Valley 3

MOUNT UNION–Karrigan Woodward contributed all across the diamond in Mount Union’s 8-3 victory over Juniata Valley in Inter-County Conference softball game on Tuesday.

Woodard went all seven innings with four strikeouts and only one walk in the circle. At the plate Woodward went 3-for-4 with a home run.

Mount Union travels to Glendale on Thursday.

Central Dauphin 4, Mifflin County 1

HARRISBURG–Despite its best efforts, Mifflin County fell short to rival Central Dauphin by the final of 4-1 in a Mid-Penn Conference softball game on Tuesday.

Josie Kibe drove in the lone run for the Huskies which brought home Madison Myers.

Madison Wolfgang pitched two and two-thirds innings with eight strikeouts and four walks. Devanie Condrack pitched three and third innings with a strikeout and four walks.

Mifflin County hosts Chambersburg on Thursday.

BEAVER SPRINGS–Midd-West refused to allow Warrior Run to ruin its senior night as the Mustangs came out on top, 7-0, in a PHAC baseball game on Tuesday.

Griffen Paige led the attack on offense going 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Hunter Wolfley went 2-for-3 with a triple.

Logan Rager pitched the first five innings for the Mustangs striking out six and walked four batter. Cam Richard finished the final two innings and had two strikeouts.

Midd-West travels to face Milton today.

Juniata Valley 2, Mount Union 1

ALEXANDRIA–It went down to the wire and in the end, Juniata Valley managed to sneak past Mount Union 2-1 in a Inter-County Conference baseball game, on Tuesday.

The Hornets took the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning. The Trojans were able to even the score at one apiece in the top of the sixth. Juniata Valley did not want extra innings and managed to get one run home in the bottom of the seventh to take the victory.

Mount Union hosts Glendale on Thursday for a doubleheader beginning at 3 p.m.

Junior High Girls soccer

Mifflin County 2, East Juniata 1

LEWISTOWN–Mifflin County made the most of its shot opportunities in its 2-1 victory over East Juniata on Tuesday.

The Tigers had over twice as many shot attempts as the Huskies did, outshooting them 10-4 for the whole game.

Mackenzie Peachey scored the first goal for the Huskies and then later kicked a corner kick into the waiting feet of Leah Alexander for the go-head goal.
