Thank you for support of recent event

To the editor:

Bugles Across America, sponsored by the American Revolution Round Table of Central Pennsylvania, had its inaugural event for the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day, May 31, 2021 at the Old Courthouse on Monument Square in Lewistown. Taps were sounded by Howard Reitenbaugh of Bugles Across America to honor those who died in service to America.

Estimates were around 80 people. Thank you! We plan to do this event again next year with some changes and I would encourage you to plan on attending.

I would like to thank those who were involved this year.

A special thanks to VFW Post 7011 for our Honor Guards: Paul Burkett, Captain, Chuck Lyons, Don Wright, Anthony Rupert; The Juniata River Valley Chamber of Commerce, and the Juniata River Valley Visitors Bureau, Rhonda Moore, Jenny Landis and Buffie Boyer; Mayor Deb Bargo; Mifflin County Commissioners Rob Postal and Kevin Kodish and employee Lonnie Griffith; The Sentinel; Lewistown Police Department; Radio Stations WCHX; WKVA; WMRF; Seven Mountains Media; our volunteers who handed out the flyers, Greg DeVecchis, Marie Lepley and Valarie DeVecchis; and Mark Baylor as our second bugler.

And a very special thanks to those of you who attended! You made this a success! It speaks volumes for our community.
