The true church of God
To the Editor:
When people talk about church or churches they are normally talking about buildings where people gather to worship. The church is not a building but the people who gather in them. The congregations of the early churches were those who came to Christ by the preaching of the apostles. When they come together the men of the gathering would share with those present what God had laid upon their hearts to share. Speaking one at a time and allowing for all to speak who chose to speak (1 Cor. 14:29-31). Most, if not all, in attendance would have been Christians and members of God’s true church.
The true church of God in today’s world is not one visible church, or denomination of churches, or presbyterians, or christian societies. Because not all who are in the visible of this world are not all true believers. There are, in the visible church today, believers who are God’s elect, there are true believers in different denominations of christian churches, and many true believers in no visible church at all, and all of these believers belong to the body of Christ.
All being one with Christ and in spiritual union with one another and very possibly never meeting in this world. They are all chosen by the Father, redeemed by the blood of the Son, and drawn to faith by the Holy Spirit and made one with Christ. They are ONE IN BODY, ONE IN SPIRIT, ONE IN TRUTH, and ONE IN CHRIST and in total unity in the true invisible church of GOD.
