Church reopens for worship

McVEYTOWN –McVeytown United Methodist Church, 3 South Queen St., McVeytown, is open for Sunday morning worship. Services begin at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome.

Bunkertown Church to host Gospel concert

McALISTERVILLE – The Lore Family from Portsmouth, Ohio, will present a gospel concert at 9 a.m., Sunday, Aug. 2, at the Bunkertown Brethren Church, 52 Bunkertown Road, McAlisterville. The Lore Family, consisting of Darren, Sandy and their two children Fayth and Samuel, sings a variety of music including; classic and current southern gospel favorites, as well as originals written by Darren. They have sung on such stages as the National Quartet Convention, Gatlinburg Gathering Showcase, Singing in the Sun Showcase, Gospel Music Showcase TV, Great American Gospel TV, Gospel Music USA TV, Dollywood, Silver Dollar City and more. They have been featured on The Gospel Greats with Radio Personality-Paul Heil. It doesn’t take long for people to be inspired by the passion and the anointing of this spirit-filled family. They have a desire to see souls saved, the church strengthened and God’s name exalted.

¯Aug. 16 — Caleb Snook will share at 6 p.m.

¯Aug. 23 — A creekside baptism service will be held at 10 a.m. There will be no church service.

¯Aug. 30 — An outdoor service will be held at 6 p.m. at Evendale Ballfield with Nottingham Four. A love offering will be lifted. Bring lawn chairs. It rains, the service will be held at Stony Run Mission.

Church to host

worship night

McCLURE — Mount Bethel Church, 16 E. Specht St., McClure, will host a Praise and Worship Night beginning at 7 p.m. Aug. 22 in the air conditioned sanctuary.

The All Access Band from Samuel’s Church will perform. There will be free snacks. A love offering will be accepted for the band.

Support group offered for those grieving

McVEYTOWN — Pine Glen Alliance Church near McVeytown will be hosting its next Grief Share Support Group beginning Aug. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. GriefShare is a network of 12,000 churches worldwide with leaders equipped to offer support through Biblical concepts for healing. The group will meet for 13 weeks with a focus to bring help and encouragement to those who have experienced the death of a spouse, child, family member or friend.

Preschool accepting registration

McALISTERVILLE — Faith Preschool is taking place for the 2020-21 school year. The preschool is sponsored by Bunkertown Brethren Church, a ministry outreach to children of the surrounding community.
