Field surveys for State College Area Connector begin next week

STATE COLLEGE — Field survey work for the proposed State College Area Connector Project is scheduled to begin the week of July 6, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation. PennDOT said members of the project’s design team will conduct field reconnaissance and collect data along the project’s preferred alternative route. Centre County man indicted on child sexual abuse material conspiracy charge

From staff reports STATE COLLEGE — A Centre County man has been indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of conspiracy to produce child sexual abuse material, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced. Morris W. Reese, 65, was charged in an indictment returned Tuesday. According to U.S. Attorney Brian D. Miller, Reese is accused of conspiring with others to produce child sexual abuse material between November 2024 and November 2025. Vehicle overturns in Jackson Township BLAIN — A 76-year-old East Waterford man suffered minor injuries as the result of a one-vehicle crash June 25 on Big Spring Road in Jackson Township, Perry County. State police said Martin L. Damm Jr. was traveling east when his Chevrolet Impala crossed into the opposing lane, left the roadway, traveled down an embankment and overturned about 1 1⁄2 times before coming to rest in a field. Damm was transported by ambulance to Holy Spirit Hospital.
