PORT MATILDA — The Bob Perks Cancer Assistance Fund will host its “Night at the Races” fundraiser Oct. 3 at Good Shepherd Parish Hall in Port Matilda, with proceeds benefiting area cancer patients. The Juniata County Food Pantry’s 14th annual Summer Backpack Program concluded on August 22, with 202 registered students, a number not recorded since 2017. We shared more than 8,200 lunches during 402 visits to the food pantry. 144 backpacks, filled with school supplies, were distributed. 92 participants came to our facility all three summer months. LEWISTOWN — Geisinger Lewistown will offer drive-through flu vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at 21 Geisinger Lane. Vaccines will be available for anyone age 3 and older. Children 6 months and older can receive flu shots through Geisinger Pediatrics Lewistown at the same location. A second Saturday flu shot clinic is scheduled for Oct. 17.
