Medical center recognized for bone marrow transplant program

HERSHEY — Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center has been ranked among the top eight blood and marrow transplant programs in the nation for patient outcomes, according to a new report. The ranking, based on the Center for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research Final 2025 Transplant Center-Specific Survival Report, evaluated 176 programs nationwide. Payrolls rose by 178,000 in March and the unemployment rate edged down to 4.3%. But the details were softer than the headline. January and February payrolls were revised down by a net 7,000, the labor force shrank by 396,000, participation slipped to 61.9%, and the employment-to-population ratio fell to 59.2%. HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania Attorney General Dave Sunday is warning residents about a rise in fraudulent investment schemes circulating on social media platforms, including Meta-owned Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. The alert is part of a multistate effort urging Meta to strengthen oversight of advertising, particularly as fake investment ads and so-called “pump-and-dump” schemes proliferate online. Allegheny County jail runs on overtime, driving up pay

Last year, 107 guards at Pittsburgh's main jail earned at least half their pay from overtime, according to county records. As recently as 2016, only 28 did so.
