South Hills Music Picnic Series to begin June 7
STATE COLLEGE — South Hills School of Business & Technology will kick off its 2026 Music Picnic Series with a free outdoor concert featuring Code: Blue on Sunday, June 7.
The performance will begin at 6 p.m. on the north lawn of the school’s main campus at 480 Waupelani Drive in State College.
Code: Blue is an eight-member band that performs a mix of rhythm and blues, soul, blues and gospel-influenced music. The group originally formed in the early 1990s and released its debut album, Stages/Then and Now, in 1993. According to South Hills, the band performed throughout Pennsylvania and appeared at festivals and events across the state before reuniting in 2023.
Members of the band include Jerry Zolten, Richard Sleigh, Terri Parker, Rene Oakman, John Raiser, Chris Younken, Harry Werner and Barb Neumuller.
The concert is part of South Hills’ annual Music Picnic Series, which offers free outdoor performances throughout the summer.
The event will be held rain or shine. Grounds open at 4 p.m., and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs. Music is scheduled to conclude at 7:30 p.m.
Food and snacks will be available for purchase from Dogs on the Run hot dog cart. Free parking and restroom facilities will also be available.
