Takac partners with YMCA, Centre County Pearls for school supply drive

STATE COLLEGE — State Rep. Paul Takac, D-Centre, is partnering with the State College YMCA and Centre County Pearls for the third annual Back-to-School Drive, which will collect school supplies for local students through Aug. 4. Community members are encouraged to donate new school supplies, including backpacks, notebooks, binders, pencils, pens, highlighters, scissors, glue sticks and other classroom essentials. According to the Attorney General’s Office, online ticketing provider EventIM, which sold tickets for HMAC events through the website SeeTickets.com, has agreed to issue full refunds for tickets purchased for 2026 shows that were canceled when the venue permanently closed in February. Kish Bank reaches 3,300 students through financial literacy program

STATE COLLEGE — Kish Bank reached a record 3,300 elementary students across Central Pennsylvania this year through the American Bankers Association Foundation’s “Teach Children to Save” program, the bank announced this week. Pa. joins $4.87M settlement over past COVID-19 testing practices

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania is among 18 states participating in a $4.87 million multistate settlement with GS Labs that resolves allegations the company overcharged patients for COVID-19 tests and failed to provide results within promised timeframes, Attorney General Dave Sunday announced Tuesday.
