New tax credit delivers $217M to Pa. workers

HARRISBURG — More than 876,000 Pennsylvanians received nearly $217 million through the state’s new Working Pennsylvanians Tax Credit during the recent tax filing season, Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration announced. The Department of Revenue said the total is expected to increase as 2025 state tax returns continue to be processed, including returns filed under an extension. Pa. unemployment falls to 4.1% in June

HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s unemployment rate fell to 4.1% in June, remaining below the national rate for the month, according to preliminary figures released Thursday by the state Department of Labor & Industry. The state’s unemployment rate declined by one-tenth of a percentage point from May and was two-tenths lower than June 2025. The U.S. unemployment rate also fell one-tenth of a percentage point to 4.2% in June.
