Motorcyclist killed in Perry County crash

From staff reports LANDISBURG — A 28-year-old Millerstown man was killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Shermans Valley Road in Perry County. According to Pennsylvania State Police, James A. Snyder Jr. was traveling east on a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled onto an embankment and lost control before re-entering the roadway. The motorcycle sideswiped a westbound Honda Civic driven by David L. Carlson Jr., 60, of Loysville. Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene. Moore held on $500,000 bail

LEWISTOWN — A Lewistown man remains in the Mifflin County Correctional Facility after failing to post $500,000 bail as court documents provide additional details about the investigation that led to his arrest. Randy Edward Moore, 32, is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing at 9 a.m. July 29 before Magisterial District Judge Kent A. Smith. EAA Chapter 518 to host museum bus trip

From staff reports REEDSVILLE — The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 518 will host a bus trip Sept. 19 to the Air Mobility Command Museum in Dover, Del. The trip will depart from the Mifflin County Airport Administration Building in Reedsville at 6 a.m., with a pickup scheduled for 6:30 a.m. at Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Mifflintown. From staff reports LEWISTOWN — The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced its maintenance schedule for Mifflin and Juniata counties for the week of July 20, with motorists advised to expect daytime traffic restrictions at several work zones.
