Motorcyclist killed in Perry County crash

LANDISBURG -- A 28-year-old Millerstown man was killed Sunday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Shermans Valley Road in Perry County.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, James A. Snyder Jr. was traveling east on a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle when he failed to negotiate a curve, traveled onto an embankment and lost control before re-entering the roadway. The motorcycle sideswiped a westbound Honda Civic driven by David L. Carlson Jr., 60, of Loysville.

Snyder was pronounced dead at the scene. Carlson suffered suspected minor injuries and was transported for medical evaluation. An 84-year-old passenger in the Honda was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
