PennDOT announces weekly maintenance schedule
Bridge work, pipe replacement, shoulder maintenance planned

LEWISTOWN -- The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced its maintenance schedule for Mifflin and Juniata counties for the week of July 20, with motorists advised to expect daytime traffic restrictions at several work zones.
In Mifflin County, bridge maintenance is scheduled at three locations. Crews will work on Route 3017 (Ferguson Valley Road) at a bridge spanning a tributary of the Juniata River in Wayne Township on Monday and Tuesday, Route 1012 (Siglerville Pike) at a bridge spanning a tributary of Laurel Creek in Armagh Township on Wednesday, and Route 1003 (Siglerville Road) at a bridge spanning Havice Creek in Armagh Township on Thursday and Friday. Flaggers will provide traffic control, and a pilot vehicle may be used.
PennDOT also plans side dozing operations along both eastbound and westbound lanes of Route 322 between the Centre-Mifflin County line in Armagh Township and the bridges spanning Kishacoquillas Creek in Brown Township through Friday. Single-lane closures will be in place while crews complete the work.
In Juniata County, bridge maintenance is scheduled on Route 75 at the bridge spanning the Norfolk Southern Railroad in Port Royal Borough through Friday. The work will take place off the roadway and is expected to have little, if any, impact on traffic.
Pipe replacement and cleaning will continue on Route 3008 (Groninger Valley Road) between Burd Hollow Road and Spruce Hill Road in Beale Township through Friday. Flaggers will direct traffic during daylight hours, and a pilot vehicle may be used.
Shoulder maintenance is also planned at several locations in Juniata County. Crews will work on Route 3010 (Lion's Club Park Road) in Milford Township on Monday, Route 3008 (Groninger Valley Road) on Tuesday and Wednesday, and Route 3017 (Academia Road) in Beale Township on Thursday and Friday.
Motorists should expect daylight traffic restrictions in active work zones and follow directions from flaggers and pilot vehicles. Drivers are reminded not to pass a pilot vehicle displaying a "Pilot Car Follow Me" sign and flashing yellow light.
PennDOT said the work schedule is subject to change because of weather, emergencies or other unforeseen circumstances. Roadway concerns can be reported by calling 1-800-FIX-ROAD.
