Menno Township to receive grant for Route 655

From staff reports ALLENSVILLE — A Mifflin County project will receive more than $372,000 in state funding to improve pedestrian and traffic safety along Route 655 in Allensville, one of 50 transportation projects receiving nearly $54 million statewide. Josh Shapiro announced Monday that the Menno Township Board of Supervisors will receive $372,184 through Pennsylvania’s Multimodal Transportation Fund to install medians and crosswalks along Route 655. From staff reports LEWISTOWN — Police and fire crews responded to what was described as a “barricaded persons incident” in Lewistown Saturday afternoon. According to information posted by City Hook and Ladder No. 14, the fire company was initially dispatched at about 2:45 p.m. Saturday to provide standby assistance for the Lewistown Police Department. Ward proposes changes to voter registration

Judy Ward has introduced legislation aimed at strengthening Pennsylvania’s voter registration system by giving county election officials additional sources of information to identify deceased, duplicate and otherwise ineligible registrations.
