Calendar
The Sentinel offers nonprofit and other community organizations an opportunity to promote upcoming events for free in the community calendar for three days before the event. Events requiring reservations may be promoted for up to two weeks before the reservation deadline.
Events that require a purchase from a for-profit business, even if a donation is made to the organization, are not eligible for the calendar.
Please be brief and include only basic details. If possible, provide a phone number or email address to be published with contact information.

•LHS Class of 1956 70th reunion — noon, Sunday, June 7, Birch Hill Event Center, 1100 N. Pine St., Burnham. Open drop-in visitation period 2:30 to 5 p.m. Reservation deadline May 1.
•Mother’s Day meal — 11 a.m to 1 p.m., Sunday, May 10, Milroy Fire Co., 190 College Ave., Milroy. Pickup only. Adults: $15. Children 10 and under: $7. For reserve orders, call (717) 667-2388.

•Church yard sale — 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Bannerville Church of the Brethren, 7502 Stage Rd., McClure. Free hot dogs and drinks. Church restrooms available. In connection with the local community yard sale.
•Hometown Heroes breakfast — 8 to 10 a.m., Dream Center, 201 First Ave., Burnham (former Burnham Hardware building). Military veterans, firemen, policemen, EMTs, medical field personnel, etc.
•Graceful Soles Shoe Bank — 9 a.m. to noon, Grace United Methodist Church, 101 Logan St., Lewistown. Children up to age 18 are given a free pair of shoes with verification of low income through medical assistance. Parent or guardian must accompany child.
•Penn State Master Gardeners plant sale — 9 a.m. to noon, South Plaza Dr., Lewistown (next to Mifflin County Extension office). Penn State Master Gardeners will be on site to answer questions.
