Local gas chain raises $33K for YMCA

From staff reports

LEWISTOWN — Nittany MinitMart has raised more than $33,000 to support local YMCA organizations through a recent customer donation campaign.

The convenience store chain collected $33,442.12 over several weeks through a round-up initiative, allowing customers to round purchases up to the nearest dollar. Funds will be distributed among 13 local YMCA organizations based on contributions from each community.

“This really speaks to the generosity of our customers,” said Nicole Masullo, senior vice president of Nittany MinitMart. “Their round-up donations added up to make a big difference.”

The donations will help fund YMCA programs, including financial assistance for youth participation and summer activities designed to provide safe, engaging opportunities for children.

Nittany MinitMart, which operates 28 stores across northern and central Pennsylvania, regularly supports local causes. Over the past year, the company has contributed to food banks, volunteer fire departments, and programs for hospitalized children.

The company is continuing its charitable efforts with its annual “Fuel the Cause” campaign, which supports local fire companies through in-store and fuel pump donations.

Starting at $2.99/week.
