Better get hoppin’ to weekend activities

If you’re looking for something Easter-related, you’ve come to the right place. If not, well, you might not find anything hare-raising about this week’s things to do.
It’s Easter weekend, so what do you expect? Check out these events in the Juniata River Valley:
Hometown Hero’s Breakfast
The Dream Center, located at 204 First Ave., Burnham, hosts a Hometown Hero’s Breakfast on the first Saturday of each month from 8 to 10 a.m., honoring our firefighters, police, medical workers, vets and all hometown heroes.
Trout Opening Day Fisherman’s Breakfast
Enjoy an All-You-Can-Eat Trout Opening Day Fisherman’s Breakfast on Saturday from 6 to 10 a.m. at the Fremont Social Hall, 299 Millrace Road, Mount Pleasant Mills. Buffet meal includes: eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, potatoes, toast, pancakes, sausage gravy and coffee or juice. All-you-can-eat dine-in or grab takeout. The cost is $12 for adults and $5 for ages 5 to 11. Proceeds benefit the Fremont Fire Department.
Easter egg hunts
Basom Park, sponsored by Richfield Women’s Club, 6972 Heister Valley Road, Richfield, noon to 3 p.m. Friday. Lunch stand opens at noon, and Easter Bunny arrives on firetruck at 1 p.m. Egg hunt starts at 2 p.m. for ages 1 to sixth grade. Bring a basket.
Greenwood High School Athletic Field, 405 E. Sunbury St., Millerstown, sponsored by Millerstown Moose Lodge No. 925, noon to 2 p.m. Friday.
McVeytown Presbyterian Church, 5 N. Queen St., McVeytown. Light refreshments and activities included.

Poe Valley State Park, 136 Poe Valley Park Circle, Coburn, 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Involves following riddles and collecting clues for a prize at the end. Meet at Poe Valley Beachhouse Breezeway.
Locust Grove Retirement Village, 69 Cottage Road, Mifflin, 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday. For ages 1 and up. $1 raffle baskets.
