Commissioners move on personnel items
MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata County commissioners approved the following agenda items during their weekly meeting Tuesday:
• Reappointed Scott Fritz, president and CEO of Pennian Bank, as an additional representative to the SEDA-COG Board of Directors for calendar year 2026, effective Feb. 3;
• Approved a purchase-of-service agreement between the Juniata County Children and Youth Services Agency and Diversified Treatment Alternative Centers to provide child welfare services;
• Approved tax exonerations for Port Royal Borough and Milford Township;
• Accepted the resignation of Heather Umpleby from her position as a Juniata County Children and Youth caseworker, effective at the end of business Jan. 27;
• Approved a change in compensation for John Matter, a 911 telecommunicator, for taking over a vacant TAC officer position. The change includes a $1.50 per hour differential, increasing his pay from $19.08 to $20.58 per hour.
