Responders called when van collides with residence

A work van owned by Rotech Healthcare struck a residence at 2981 U.S. 522 North in Lewistown just before noon on Wednesday.

LEWISTOWN — Firefighters from Chief Logan Fire Co. responded to a vehicle accident at 2981 U.S. 522 North in Lewistown on Monday. Crews were alerted to reports of a vehicle striking a house at 11:21 a.m. Fire officials confirmed a work van owned by Rotech Healthcare had struck the residence, causing extensive damage to the structure and the vehicle.

The driver of the van was transported to Geisinger-Lewistown Hospital with moderate injuries. Assisting Chief Logan were City Hook & Ladder, Junction Fire Co., Fame EMS, the Mifflin County Regional Police, Parsons Towing, and local fire police. The homeowners and some family members who were in the structure at the time of the accident escaped injury. U.S. 522 was limited to one lane traffic during the incident. All lanes were opened to traffic at 12:34 p.m.
