McVeytown man jailed on recent child sex assault charges

Zachary Keiser
HARRISBURG — Attorney General Dave Sunday announced child sexual abuse material charges against a Mifflin County man — his third-strike offenses for crimes against children.
Zachary P. Keiser, 35, of McVeytown, is charged with felony counts of possessing child sexual abuse material and related offenses resulting from an investigation by the Office of Attorney General’s Child Predator Section.
Keiser was convicted of sexually assaulting children in 2009 and 2013, and served prison terms for both sets of crimes. He is currently a registered sex offender and was deemed a sexually violent predator by a sentencing judge.
He was recently arraigned on the latest charges, when bail was set at $1 million.
“This court-deemed predator has shown with his repeated criminal acts that he is a threat to any child in a free society,” Sunday said. “Multiple prison sentences and strict court orders have not prompted him to reform his behavior, which remains focused on targeting and harming children.”
Office of Attorney General agents received a tip earlier this year and tracked child sexual abuse material to Keiser. A search warrant was served at Keiser’s home last week.
The case will be prosecuted by Senior Deputy Attorney General Janie Swinehart. Criminal charges, and any discussion thereof, are merely allegations and all defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
