A road closure sign on Route 75 in Juniata County is one of many in the area as of Friday morning due to flash flooding and storm damage on Thursday evening.

CLEARFIELD – – Following significant storming overnight in Juniata County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) is updating drivers on the conditions of local roadways.

• A Route 75 closure at a bridge spanning Hunters Creek near Port Royal in Turbett Township with a detour using Route 850 westbound at Honeygrove, Route 35 northbound Reeds Gap, and Route 333 eastbound remains in place.

• A Route 333 is closure between Port Royal and Thompsontown due to a roadway washout is also in place. Drivers should follow the same detour in place for Route 75.

• Route 2002 (Miller Hill Road) is restricted to one lane at a box culvert spanning a tributary of Doe Run approximately two miles northeast of Mexico in Walker Township.

• Route 3002 (Old 22/Main Street) in Fermanagh Township is fully closed due to downed trees and utility wires. PennDOT estimates reopening the road around 1:00 PM.

All other previously reported closures in Juniata County have reopened. PennDOT cautions motorists to never drive through flooded roadways, as it takes just two feet of fast-moving water to float a car. Anyone who drives around barriers intended to close a road can face increased penalties if emergency responders are called to rescue motorists who disregard traffic control signs.
