MIFFLINTOWN — Juniata High School’s annual May Day program will be held at 7 p.m. on May 5. Tickets are $5 and will be sold at the door. This variety show includes performances by Aidan Gardner, Lexie Gilson, Slone Smith, Cassett Trout, Sebastian Richmond, Peyton Sheaffer, Sarah Fisher, Jessica Maben, Maison Wolfe, Natalie Popp, and Chris Martin. The program’s MC’s are Mallory Wilson and Natalie Popp. The program includes the crowning of this year’s May Day Queen.
May Day Court
The freshman attendant is Mollee Hockenberry, daughter of Greg and Kim Hockenberry of Mifflintown. Mollee is in Student Council and softball. Her plans are to attend college, but she is unsure of her major at this point. Mollee’s escort is Wyatt Shellenberger, son of Larry and Megan Shellenberger of Port Royal.
The sophomore attendant is Isabella Armstrong, daughter of Shane and Elizabeth Armstrong of Port Royal. Isabella is on the volleyball team, the secretary in Student Council, in SADD, an assistant for the middle school volleyball program, in Chorus, on the lighting crew, and a member of the Silks Squad. She is a dancer at Studio 32, in the CPYM Youth Group, in the St. Jude Catholic Church Youth Group, and a teacher for Sunday school at St. Jude’s. Isabella’s plans are to attend college. Her escort is Carson Kepner, son of Matt and Tonya Kepner of Mexico.
The junior attendant is Lexie Gilson, daughter of William and Bonita Gilson of Mifflintown. Lexie is in Chorus, Concert Band, District and Region Band and Choir, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Jazz Combo, Key Club, May Day, Musical, Newspaper (editor), SADD (vice president), Student Council (vice president), and junior class president. She is a dancer at Margaret McCann School of Dance, a volunteer at Abundant Blessings, and a HOBY alumna. She plans to attend Penn State to major in Music Education. Lexie’s escort is Christopher Martin, son of Justin and Mandy Martin of Mifflintown.
Senior Court
Chloe Beckenbaugh is the daughter of Ange and Nathan Beckenbaugh of Mifflintown. She is on the volleyball team, the basketball team, and the track and field team. Chloe is also in Scholastic J, the National Honor Society president, the senior class president, in the Student Council, and on the yearbook staff. Her plans are to attend Bloomsburg University to major in the nursing program and specialize in pediatrics. Chloe’s escort is Louden Sheaffer, son of Mindy and Jay Sheaffer of Mifflin.
Verna Fisher is the daughter of Mel and Becky Fisher of Port Royal. Verna is on the Track and Field team and was an escort in the Snow King court. She is involved in church activities. Verna plans to join the workforce. Her escort is Casey Smith, son of Robyn and Andrew Smith of Mifflintown.
Victory Frantz is the daughter of Thomas Frantz and Marcy Benner, both of Mifflintown. Victory is on the soccer team, was on the Homecoming Court, and is in Scholastic J, Varsity J, and National Honor Society. She plans to attend Keystone College to major in Special Education. Victory’s escort is Caleb Smith, son of Tina and Chad Smith of Mifflintown.
Tessa Fry is the daughter of Adam and Renee Fry of Port Royal. Tessa is a majorette captain, in Concert Band and HOSA, and on the yearbook staff. She is also a dancer at Margaret McCann School of Dance. Tessa plans to attend HACC to study pre-health professions with a concentration in Nursing. Her escort is Will Saner, son of Adam and Robin Saner of Thompsontown.
Autumn Graybill is the daughter of Dale and Char Graybill of Mifflintown. Autumn is the senior class treasurer, on the track team, on the volleyball team, and in Student Council, Varsity J, and Scholastic J. She was in the Homecoming Court and was an escort in the Snow King Court. Her plans are to join the workforce and travel. Autumn’s escort is Taylor Smith, son of Robyn and Andrew Smith of Mifflintown.
Madison Randolph is the daughter of Matthew Randolph and Sarah Hall of Mifflintown. Madison is in the National Honor Society, Student Council, SADD, yearbook staff, Poetry Out Loud, and winter cheerleading. She works at Weis Markets and Annsfield. Her plans are to attend Millersville University for Business Marketing. Madison’s escort is Dantae Harris whose guardian is Michael Love of Port Royal.
