Mifflin Juniata Human Services fund monies available Fiscal Year

Allocation expected beginning July 1

LEWISTOWN — Beginning July 1, Mifflin and Juniata counties expect to receive an allocation of Human Services Development Funds (HSDF) from the Pennsylvania Bureau of Financial Operations for the 2021-22 Fiscal Year.

The Mifflin County and Juniata County Commissioners wish to advise human service agencies that proposals for funding are now available in anticipation of the receipt of funds.

Since its implementation in 1984, the HSDF Program has provided counties with a flexible funding source for human services provided at the county level. The program provides funding for the provision of services through six categories: adult services, aging, children and youth, drug and alcohol, homeless assistance and mental health and intellectual development programs.

Mifflin County and Juniata County Human Service agencies that serve low income persons (defined as at or below 125% of the poverty level) may be eligible for HSDF funding for services that meet the grant criteria.

Specific requirements of the program are outlined in the HSDF Request for Proposal (RFP). An RFP and supporting documents must be reviewed and approved before funding is secured. Any agency wishing to submit a proposal or request additional information should contact Allison Fisher at the Mifflin Juniata Human Services Department, 20 North Wayne St. Lewistown, PA 17044. The telephone number is (717) 242-5452.

Requests can also be emailed to afisher@mifflinco.org. RFPs are now available online at www.co.mifflin.pa.us or www.co.juniata.pa.us at the Human Services Department link or by contacting the Human Services Department via phone.

One original and one copy of the proposal are due back to the Human Services Department by 1:30 p.m. on April 13.

Starting at $2.99/week.
