LEWISTOWN — The Mifflin County School District Board of Directors approved multiple paid and volunteer athletics positions at a special voting meeting on Thursday night. In an 8-1 roll call vote, directors approved Jonathan T. Baker as a volunteer softball coach for the Spring 2027 season, effective on Nov. 6; director Mark Baker abstained. LEWISTOWN - More than half of registered voters cast ballots in Mifflin and Juniata counties Tuesday, and both election directors said they were pleased with turnout and reported few problems. Juniata County reported turnout of 58.59%, while Mifflin County Elections Director Paula Hoffman put her county’s turnout at 53%.
