Tonges celebrate 61st anniversary

Mary and Bill Tonge, of East Waterford, are celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary today.They were married on Feb. 28, 1954, and have four daughters, nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Bill is retired, having worked at Kimberly-Clark (formerly Scott Paper) for 40 years, leaving as senior adjuster, where he worked after his time with the U.S. Navy.Mary is a retired nurse, having worked in several emergency rooms and nursing homes for about 50 years.

Heaths celebrate 55th anniversary

Harold and Marian Heath, of Reedsville, celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on Feb. 20.They are the parents of Susan McCoy, wife of Steve McCoy, of Elizabethtown, and the late Leslie Kaye Doyle.They have five grandchildren: Brett McCoy and Nicole, and Aaron McCoy and wife Amy, all of Elizabethtown; Sarah, Joel and Leah Doyle, all of Coudersport.Harold is retired from New Holland, and Marian is retired from the Mifflin County School District.They are members of Ellen Chapel Church.

Saxtons celebrate 50th anniversary

Sue and Fred Saxton, of Lewistown, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on Oct. 10, 2014.They were married on Oct. 10, 1964, at Grove Memorial United Methodist Church by Rev. Fred Moore.Sue is the daughter of the late Millard and Anna Griffith. Fred is the son of the late James and Goldie Saxton.They are the parents of Stewart Saxton, of Pittsburgh; Jennifer Robinette, of Lewistown; and the late Mark Saxton. Mr. and Mrs. James Matteson, of Lewistown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Nov. 21, 2014.She is the former Bonnie Woomer, daughter of Clair and Edna Woomer. She graduated from Chief Logan High School in 1962.He is the son of Thelma and Chick Webb. Baileys celebrate 67th anniversary

Eugene S. Bailey and Marjorie J. Gesselman, of Port Royal, recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.They were married on Nov. 25, 1947, at the Methodist church in McVeytown.They raised two daughters, Alice and Connie, and two sons, Brian and Charles.After raising their children, the couple moved to Orlando, Florida. Jeffrey and Cathy Bitting, of 627 Chris Ave., Dry Valley, Lewistown, recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.Jeffrey and Cathy (Semla) Bitting were married on Oct. 21, 1989, at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lewistown.
