Juniata County sheriff warns residents about phone scam

MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata County Sheriff's Office is warning residents about a phone scam involving callers falsely claiming to represent the sheriff's office. According to the sheriff's office, the scam callers claim to be from the civil division and identify themselves as "Deputy Mingle." "There is no Deputy Mingle employed with the Juniata County Sheriff's Office," the office said in a statement. "Any phone calls received in this manner are not valid." Anyone with questions or concerns about the calls is encouraged to contact the Juniata County Sheriff's Office at (717) 436-2213.
