Sadie Peachey Greetings to all. We had another 8/10 rain over Sunday, so things keep green and growing. Cornfields and more are very nice. Today is sweet corn day. I helped to clean it and Nannie creams it off. There seems to be plenty of sweet corn around at the produce stands and more. Now the sun comes out nice and bright, so maybe those having laundry out can have a drying day. What better way to dry it than outside in the fresh air and sunshine. Elizabeth Yoder Cheery greetings from southern Ohio this morning. The sun is shining through the clouds at times. The weather seems unsettled; we had a thunder shower last night with 1.2 inches of rain. Gertie and Lena were outside mowing the yard this morning before it rains again. OUTDOORS: Fall hunting season opens for doves in September by David Thompson A male mourning dove called several mornings early in July up on the hill where mature conifers stand. Doves often nest in conifers. Chances are he was calling to his mate. I had listened for doves to call back in May without hearing any. That was strange. Where were they at nesting time?
