Big Ten slate announced for 2025

UNIVERSITY PARK – The Big Ten Conference announced its 2025 league football schedule on Wednesday. Penn State will play a seven-game home schedule in 2025, which includes four conference opponents.

The Nittany Lions will open Big Ten play on September 27, hosting Oregon, and will also host Big Ten foes Northwestern (Oct. 11), Indiana (Nov. 8) and Nebraska (Nov. 22). Penn State’s conference road opponents include UCLA (Oct. 4), Iowa (Oct. 18), Ohio State (Nov. 1), Michigan State (Nov. 15) and Rutgers (Nov. 29).

On October 5, 2023, the Big Ten announced conference opponents through the 2028 season. The 2026-28 opponents for Penn State are listed below.

2026:

Home: Minnesota, Purdue, Rutgers, USC, Wisconsin

Away: Maryland, Michigan, Northwestern, Washington

2027:

Home: Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Washington

Away: Illinois, Indiana, Oregon, Purdue, Wisconsin

2028:

Home: Indiana, Iowa, Ohio State, Oregon, UCLA

Away: Michigan State, Nebraska, Rutgers, USC

Sixth-seeded Penn State will host 11th-seeded SMU on Saturday, Dec. 21 in the first round of the College Football Playoff. Kickoff is slated for noon on TNT and Max.
