Attick Sr. inducted into State Babe Ruth HOF

LEWISTOWN — Don Attick, Sr. will become Mifflin County’s 20th member inducted into the Pennsylvania Babe Ruth Hall of Fame later this year, Keith Baker, president of the Mifflin County League, said in an announcement made on Sunday. Attick had two jobs in the local Babe Ruth world. He was District 7 commissioner from 1979-91 and also an assistant coach in Reedsville. Juniata’s hot bats outslug Dragons

MIFFLINTOWN — The Juniata Indians have watched opposing teams post some pretty big numbers on the softball scoreboard this season. Juniata is hoping those tables might have turned a bit in its favor. On Friday, the Indians blasted rival East Juniata 15-2 in five innings. On Saturday, Juniata outslugged Lewisburg 13-11 in a non-league clash to improve to 2-5 on the season. The Indians pounded out 22 hits in racking up their 13 runs; they also committed seven errors.
