Kish Indians kick off season with three wins, two shutouts

WINGATE — The Kish Indians Football and Cheer opened a new season in the Central PA Youth Football League on Sunday with a strong showing against Bald Eagle Area and State College. The Kish White flag football team opened the day with a 24-18 victory over Bald Eagle Area, while the Kish Maroon flag team fell to State College, 18-0. LEWISTOWN — All three Mifflin County Babe Ruth All-Star teams lost to teams that made it to the national final four. The 13-year-olds fell to Atlantic Shore, 15-0, in the Mid-Atlantic Regionals. Atlantic Shore was the second-place team in the nation. Hawaii won the 13-year-old national title, which was played in Jamestown, New York. LEWISTOWN — Mifflin County boys soccer hosted the East Juniata Tigers on early Saturday afternoon for their first game of the early season tournament where the Huskies found themselves on the right end of a 3-1 win over East Juniata.
