Roundups: Huskies place 6th at Carlisle
CARLISLE --- Mifflin County golf competed Tuesday at the Carlisle War Barracks golf course, the home of Mechanicsburg. MC finished sixth. The Huskies were led by Evan Breon who fired an 81 to place in a tie for 13th. Caleb Bubb shot a career-low round of 82 to tie for 15th place. Chase Krepps shot 90, and Jude Zook shot 91 to round out the scoring. Anderson Bitner also fired a 91, which is a career-low score for him. MC now stands at 10-34 on the season. Deverka named Defensive Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The National Field Hockey Coach’s Association (NFHCA) announced on Wednesday morning that Penn State’s Aby Deverka was named the NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week. Deverka’s accolade comes hot off the heels of her first Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week honor and is her first time earning a national player of the week award. Curve pitchers net 11 punchouts in 3-0 win
CURVE, Pa. – Connor Oliver, Landon Tomkins, and Mike Walsh spun Altoona’s seventh shutout win of the season on Tuesday night at Peoples Natural Gas Field. Altoona took down the Akron RubberDucks, 3-0. Ivan Brethowr’s two-run single in the fourth inning was accounted for the first runs of the day and Lonnie White Jr. added an RBI single in the sixth inning to highlight the night at the plate for Altoona.
