CARLISLE — Mifflin County golf competed Tuesday at the Carlisle War Barracks golf course, the home of Mechanicsburg. MC finished sixth. The Huskies were led by Evan Breon who fired an 81 to place in a tie for 13th.
Caleb Bubb shot a career-low round of 82 to tie for 15th place. Chase Krepps shot 90, and Jude Zook shot 91 to round out the scoring. Anderson Bitner also fired a 91, which is a career-low score for him.
MC now stands at 10-34 on the season. MC is back in action on Thursday at Lewistown Country Club against Millersburg.
Emma Norman also competed at Mayapple golf links in Carlisle. She shot a score of 108, which placed in a tie for 26th out of 47 girls.
GIRLS SOCCER
Cougars best Huskies
On Tuesday, Palmyra beat Mifflin County on Tuesday, 2-0, in girls soccer action.
For the Cougars, Alayna Pascale scored at the 44:52 mark and Leah Blouch had the assist. Mia Grinstead tacked on another score at 75:12 and Blouch added an assist.
Palmyra outshot MC, 12-1.
Taryn Hubler had 10 saves for the Huskies and Skylynn Gingrich posted one save for Palmyra.
In JV action, Palmyra beat MC, 8-0.
MC is now 0-4-1 and their next game is at home versus Northern York on Thursday.

Blackhawks down Tigers
DUNCANNON — Susquenita beat East Juniata on Tuesday, 12-0.
Goalkeeper Jonny Hoffman had 11 saves for the Tigers.
EJ (0-3) visits St. Joe’s on Thursday.

Huskies win tri-meet
The Mifflin County boys cross country team defeated Carlisle (25-30) and Chambersburg (19-37) on Monday in tri-meet action.
"Today was a great meet for us, and we returned to form after a tough day at BVI. It was again very hot, but it didn't seem to phase the majority of my athletes. They executed a similar plan to last week, and really covered the moves necessary to pull into the lead over miles 2 and 3. Wyatt Kauffman picked up a tri-meet individual win and looked fantastic (and the time was great considering a more tactical race). Hoyt Rodenbaugh was also really solid for us, and looked more like his old self after an up and down week. We didn't miss a beat after those two with Aidan Scavetti, Koy Aurand, and Craig Whitenight securing the win for us. Across the board we had awesome days clear back to our last runner, and we look to carry this momentum into next week. We are off this weekend, and face State College Tuesday at home," Huskies coach Alex Monroe stated.
The Huskies are now 4-0 against Mid-Penn competition.
On a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Carlisle, the Mifflin County girls cross country team ran away with a win against Carlisle with a score of 21-34, but fell short to Chambersburg losing by a mere three points, 27-30.
“The girls came ready to compete and raced with grit and determination. I’m really happy with how Espie Bargas, Liberty Cook, and Elissa Bell finished back-to-back. That secured the win against Carlisle. We had a few girls run a new personal record but across the board, all the girls showed up and raced for each other,” Huskies coach Kristin Kauffman said.
The Huskies are 3-1 in Mid-Penn action, 3-1 overall.
