The Mifflin County field hockey team lost on Wednesday, 2-0, in a physical matchup against the Hershey Trojans. Traveling to the defending state quarterfinalists, Mifflin County conceded an early goal before playing the next 30 minutes to a dead even draw. Freshman forward Jemma Kanagy drew a well-earned Trojan green card to give the Huskies a player advantage, but it wasn't enough as Hershey added another to win 2-0. LEWISTOWN -- Sam Bray has spent enough years around cross country to know that a finish line rarely means somebody is finished. At 75, Bray is stepping down as meet director of the Big Valley Invitational after roughly a decade in charge. The title will pass to Mark Colwell and others who have taken on the emails, entries, contacts and details that arrive long before the first runner reaches the starting line. Drivers gear up for Tuscarora 50
PORT ROYAL - One of sprint car racing's crown jewel events takes place Saturday at Port Royal Speedway with the 59th running of the Tuscarora 50 with the champion taking home at least $59,000. The weekend is sanctioned by the High Limit Racing Series and they are making a 2,700-mile cross-country trek to Port Royal after racing at Skagit Speedway, located in northwestern Washington state, last weekend.
