SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: Noah Wolfkiel passed for 173 yards in the first half, including a 23-yard TD strike to Lucas Hartung. Asher Pearce also had a highlight reel one-handed catch of 35 yards. Defensively, the Huskies saw Shippensburg's Mark Carothers Jr. break free for 204 yards. Despite strong tackling from Jake Knable and a strong offensive effort from Hartung late to total 75 yards on the night, the Huskies could not stop the Greyhounds late. Mifflin County was also led by the powerful running from backs Jaxson Strohecker and Zyhair Hill.
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS: Palmyra fans went home in high spirits as they saw the Greyhounds outlast Red Land 40-27 last week. After surrendering 21 unanswered points in an opening-week loss, Palmyra quarterback Roman Russek wasn't going to let another opportunity to make a statement go to waste. Red Land held a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, but Russek put the Cougars on his back, leading Palmyra on six scoring drives in an impressive 40-27 victory to open Mid-Penn Keystone Division play. Russek finished the night 20-for-25 passing for 179 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while adding 120 yards on the ground and three more TDs.
JUNIATA (0-2) at MIDDLETOWN (1-1)

LAST MEETING: Juniata 8, Middletown 7 (2021)
SCOUTING THE INDIANS: Another goose egg on offense for Juniata as the Indians struggled against West Perry, 21-0. This time it was at the familiar confines of Dietrick Field in Mifflintown. QB Jason Condo went 1 of 6 passing for 18 yards and 1 INT. His only completion was to Z Burkins. The Indians did rush for 126 yards as Ty Rowles gained 78 yards on 18 carries, with a long run of 20 yards. Rowles fumbled once as did Condo. Defensively, L Troyer, C Fike, C Hutchinson and B Harlon each had 5 tackles. Harlon and Rowles each recovered fumbles, while Kuhn picked off an INT. A Naylor made a 47-yard KO return.
SCOUTING THE BLUE RAIDERS: Although Middletown trailed 7-0, the Blue Raiders picked up their first victory of the young season last week, winning at York Suburban, 19-7. Harrison Ortiz connected on 18 of 27 attempts for 275 yards and a pair of TDs to James Quenn. Quenn finished the night with 4 catches for 72 yards. Genesisia Ross also pulled in 5 receptions for 72 yards. Quenn spread the ball around to 5 different targets. Josh Stains was the Blue Raiders leading ground-gainer with 18 carries for 80 yards. Darien Butler accounted for the other TD for Middletown. The Blue Raider secondary also turned in a pair of picks.
MOUNT UNION (2-0) at CURWENSVILLE (0-2)

SCOUTING THE GOLDEN TIDE: Curwensville has lost both of its contests by a combined score of 90-14, including 49-0 to North Star last week. Caleb Proud had as many completions to his own receivers as he did interceptions to the other team (2). His longest pass was 26 yards to Mason Lash. Back Reed Hawkins rushed for 27 yards. Most of Curwensville's offensive numbers came off KR and PR returns (107 on KRs). Defensively, Teague Prisk, Hawkins, Tuck Tkacik and Bradyn McCracken each tackles for loss, while Tkacik and McCracken added sacks.
SCOUTING THE TROJANS: Maddox Hobbs went 2 for 2 passing for 85 yards and 1 TD last time out against Curwensville and TB Nasir Collins ran free for 215 yards and 3 scores. Against Everett last week, Collins went 4 of 8 for 130 yards and 1 TD and he ran or 106 yards and 3 TDs on 15 carries in a 43-0 rout.
MIDD-WEST (1-1) at WARRIOR RUN (2-0)

SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS:
Midd-West clobbered visiting Columbia Montour Vo-Tech 66-0 in non-league action. Mustang QB Witten Carter went 8 of 10 for 201 yards, 4 TDs and 1 INT, while Jacob Acker mopped up going 2 for 2 for 37 yards and 1 TD. Noah Kratzer ran for 120 yards and Mason Fultz racked up 127 yards receiving and Jiovaunni Drumheller added one catch for 69 yards. The Mustangs produced 430 yards of offense. Defensively, they had 3 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 3 INTs. Midd-West scored 9 TDs and 7 players found their way into the scoring column.
SCOUTING THE DEFENDERS: Warrior Run is coming off a 42-19 victory over Central Mountain. Logan Stevenson passed 14 of 22 for 208 yards, 3 TDs and 1 INT. Denyn Beachel rushed for 164 yards. Emiliano Torres rushed for 2 TDs and Stevenson added another. L Moore finished with 95 receiving yards and 1 TD, B Weigel had 4 catches for 72 yards and 1 TD and Beachel 1 TD catch. Defensively, the Defensives racked up 8 tackles for loss, including 4 by Jackson Albright.
