From staff reports Mifflin County girls lacrosse faced Central Dauphin East on Monday and fell just short, losing 5-4. Huskies’ Madison Keefer had the first goal of the night, followed by two more goals by Issabella Snyder and a final goal by Emmaleigh Harmon. There were multiple shots on goal Monday night and a number of saves by goalie Sophie Heider and Joshlyn Tate. In the end, Central Dauphin East defeated Mifflin County. Sprint cars were a success

PORT ROYAL — The third race in the new PA Posse Sprint Car Series was a success Saturday night at Port Royal Speedway. The pits were full with 42 sprint cars. A good crowd was on hand as well. The racing was entertaining with Ryan Smith getting the win in the Kreitz Racing 69K after battling Chase Dietz through slower traffic. It was Smith's fourth career speedway win, third with Kreitz. The Hershey Bears (30-30-6-3) fell to Sandis Vilmanis and the Charlotte Checkers (43-22-5-0) by a 6-1 score on Sunday afternoon at the Bojangles Coliseum.
