BRANSON, Mo. -- Even the whole continent of Europe couldn't

stop Mifflin County on Saturday.

Mifflin County came from behind to down Europe, 11-7, in the semifinal game of the Babe Ruth 15-16-year-old World Series. Mifflin County finished with a 6-1 record and was second in the

United States and was third in the international play.

Mifflin County trailed 7-5 going into the top of the seventh. But, Kopper Walters reached on an error and the rally had begun.

Colton Aumiller walked and then Liam Shaffer delivered an RBI

single. Aumiller scored on a wild pitch.

Luke Shawver kept the inning going with a base hit. Jett Powell

was hit by a pitch to load the bases again. Jude Zook knocked home a run by getting hit by a pitch. Landon Pecht hit a sacrifice fly

making it 9-7.

Maverick Smith was then hit by a pitch. Haven Bridge made

the second out of the inning, but Caden McClure came up with a big hit for another insurance run.

Walters got up for the second time in the inning and was hit by a pitch to drive in the MC's sixth run of the inning.

"It was a great comeback," said Denny Yetter, the Mifflin County

manager, "We have done this all All-Star season. I started Noah

Bunch and he kept us in the game. Then Colton (Aumiller) came in

and finished off the game."

"I'm so proud of this team," Yetter added, "My two coaches Bo

Trawitz and Travis Zook were just great to work with. Today the

whole team did everything we asked of them,"

Aumiller got the win as he pitched two shutout innings in the

sixth and seventh. It marked the fourth comeback on the tournament trail as Mifflin County had two in the Mid-Atlantic

Regionals and two in the World Series.

Mifflin County had 11 hits on Saturday. Aumiller, Shaffer and Zook each had two. Haven Bridge had a triple in the third inning. Pecht,

Smith, Shawver, Bridge and McClure each had one.

Mifflin County finished off its 72nd year with a record of 795-374.
